Omega 3 in Joint Relief Formulas

The more we are immobilized by extreme pain in our joints, the more we desire to continue with our daily activities at work or in our homes. That is why more and more people turn to joint relief formulas that are available in the market.

Joint relief formulas usually contain natural anti-inflammatory ingredients that lessen or prevent the swelling. One of the natural anti-inflammatory component of these supplements is Omega 3.

Omega 3 has been popularly introduced to us as the fatty acid that is good for the heart. It has been integrated to some food such as bread for us to glean from its health benefits. But those products that claim to have omega – 3 doesn't actually contain all the essential elements. Omega 3, in order for it to have a potent effect for the body, must have all the important components which are: DHA or Docosahexaenoic Acid, EPA or Ecosapentenoic Acid, and DPA or  Ducosapetaenoic Acid, which are known to have positive health benefits.

DHA is an important brain-builder, and also is known to support nerve and eye-tissue growth. This is an important ingredient in infant's milk formulas and naturally produced from breast milk. EPA is the one that has anti- inflammatory quality and it also decrease blood clots in the cardiovascular system. DPA ,on the other hand, helps in the omega – 3 fatty acid circulation and also has the same benefits of EPA and DHA. Its source is only from seal's milk and  breast milk.

Our body does not produce Omega – 3 naturally, so we have to obtain it from our daily food intake. One source of Omega – 3 are fish like tuna, mackerel, salmon, and sardines. It can also be found in botanical sources such as flax seeds.

The good news for those who are suffering from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis is – Omega 3 is also a joint's best friend. Studies show that people who had adequate Omega – 3 intake had experienced decreased joint pain. A physician from the University of Pittsburg, Dr. Joseph Maroon, together with his colleagues organized a research surveying 120 patients suffering from joint pains. For time duration, the subjects' diet had been incorporated with Omega – 3 fatty acid from fish oils.

The results showed that fifty nine percent (59%) tolerated less joint pain, and sixty nine percent (69%) ceased to rely on using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs. Eighty six (86%) of the respondents expressed their willingness to continue taking in omega – 3 rich food as part of their diet. And the most important news of all is that it has no registered side effects.

So instead of relying on those drugs which have serious health complications, why not try taking in Omega – 3? That is why it is now found on most joint relief formulas available in the market today. It is time you experience its benefits too.
