Fighting Joint Discomfort Starts in the Mind

It was not until a few weeks ago that my uncle complained of joint discomfort. His usual day often starts with frantic mending of broken furnitures and fetching water, but when he woke up one morning with a swollen knee cap, the big ball of energy that was my uncle was suddenly left sitting in the corner of the balcony.

But after a while, he stood up and declared that he shall not be crippled by a simple knee pain. He had one good leg left and that was all he needed. He then went around limping his way while trying to get on with whatever he could still do. A joint discomfort is a joint discomfort but it will not get in his way of proceeding with his daily routine.

My uncle was trying to get on with his normal life despite his swelling right knee. Usually, when people experience joint discomfort, they spend more time whining about their condition than trying to actually combat the sickness. Let's face it, some people really do have a knack of exaggerating their pains to the point that a swollen knee will render them lying in a vegetable state, as if all of their body parts are aching.

Sometimes, it is really just a matter of attitude. Research say that people who are pessimistic are more prone to cancer. I say, pessimistic thinking aggravates diseases. And why not? Take for example those who experience joint pains.

If half of the time they spend in whimpering about how miserable their life is with their swollen joints and reclining on bed the whole day is used in gently exercising and massaging their affected body areas with the fervent intention that the swelling could be abated, the recuperation period of those people could be hastened. Right thinking coupled with the right remedy could produce astonishingly fast recovery results.

Joint pains can sometimes be debilitating. But if the joint discomfort you are feeling is not that serious and pain is tolerable, you do not need to sport that pitiful anguished face matched with wails that the whole neighborhood can hear. For goodness' sake, nobody would give you an Emmy or Golden Globe trophy for that. So cut the act and save yourself from being taken in by theĀ  melodramatic blow up of your sickness and also save others from irritation and exasperation.

You can do something about your joint discomfort. There are home remedies that you can do like massaging your swollen joints with eucalyptus oil and performing slow traction of those painful parts so that it could be conditioned to a state wherein you could still accomplish your daily tasks. Help yourself and help the people around you to at least not worry. Do not let joint discomfort get the better of you.
